Matthew 25-25
‘For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.’
At school, we learn about the important role that local, national and global charities play within the modern world. Furthermore, our catholic values teach us about the role that we should all play in supporting such organisations.
In every academic year, we make sure that we are active participants. This might be by volunteering our time (such as during our annual carol services that we perform at The Old Downs Residential Care Home), by sharing what we own (such as during our annual Harvest Celebration in which families give food that is donated to local foodbanks) or by raising money for a plethora of different charities. As St Paul stated in his letters to the Corinthians, ‘And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.’
